Cambridge Satchel

Cambridge Satchel is known for its iconic satchel bags, authentic craftsmanship, and "Made in England" heritage. We were invited to establish a globally cohesive retail identity with an initial focus on its Cambridge and Covent Garden stores.

We developed two concepts; one embraces its founding in 2008 by being inspired by the 00s preppy "IT-girl," twisting Cambridge classicism with playful irreverence and polished rebellion. Traditional shapes and detailing you would find at Cambridge University are utilized, but with irreverent textures and materials; polished surfaces, overly textured veneers, and coloured carpets, while architectural-scale elements give the space presence.

The other concept—Editorial Cool meets English Industrial Craft: a raw, brutalist setting softened by the warmth of leather, where craftsmanship is curated with the confidence of a fashion story. A modern fashion "workshop," where smooth utilitarian metal surfaces mixed with textured timber give the spaces a refined but also lived-in feel. Draped linens and stretched leathers contrast and soften the environment.
